Quick Summer Vacation (2-3 Days)

A two day tour of Jackson Hole is not nearly enough time to really “experience” the area, but we know too well that with limited time and limited budgets, two days might be all you have. We'll assume that you've “done” the parks; hopefully spending at least one day in Yellowstone and one day in the Grand Tetons (see our Parks Suggested Itinerary).

Half Day

Whitewater Rafting

The whitewater section of the Snake River begins just south of town near Hoback Junction.

Horseback Riding

A number of Horseback Riding Outfitters (Reservations Required) offer horseback riding adventures throughout the valley.

Hiking

Go on a Guided Hiking Trip or explore a trail on your own. Try Goodwin Lake (Moderate, 5 miles round trip), a great hike close to the town of Jackson Hole that reaches a pretty lake at the base of Jackson Peak. Frequented by locals, but not many out-of-towners, Goodwin Lake is located east of town at the base of Jackson Peak. To access the trail, drive northeast of Jackson along the Elk Refuge Road until you reach Curtis Canyon road. Follow this gravel and bumpy road to the trailhead.

Mountain Biking

Rent a bike from one of the local Bike Shops. Make sure to grab a guide book or map as well (available at most bike shops) and try out one of the many fun single track trails up Cache Creek.

Fishing

Book a Guided Fishing Trip or pop into a Local Fishing Shop and ask for some advice on where to go.

Wildlife Tour

Consider signing up for a half day Wildlife Tour in the park. Best viewing times are usually early morning.

Golfing

Spend the afternoon testing your skills at a nearby golf course.
