Slide Lakes

Slide Lakes are situated in the Wind River Mountain Range area, not far from Jackson Hole in Wyoming. It is fed by the Gros Ventre River, both of which allow for some of the most beautiful vacation experiences with landscapes that are breathtaking and fishing that is renowned.

The Gros Ventre River is the main feed of water into the Slide Lakes. They sit in the Bridger Wilderness just at the foot of the stunning Wind River Mountain Range. In fact, the lakes are a distance from regular roads and require a hike into the area, but for fishermen this is a trip worth taking.

Slide Lakes are very popular. They are filled with most types of trout, as well as brownies and cutthroats, but are also home to an abundance of suckers and whitefish.

The fishing season in the lakes go from April to late October, though spring runoffs make the area and trails very hard to traverse given the saturation of the soil. In fact, the best time to fish in the lakes is from May to June. However, as with the Gros Ventre River, the majority of fish are caught around mid-day.
