Palisades Reservoir

The Palisades Reservoir is located in the south-eastern side of Idaho and has become a popular site for fishing enthusiasts. Its shoreline is seventy miles in length with good access being provided by a nearby highway, as well as scenic places to set up camp for lengthy fishing trips.

Idaho is home to the manmade Palisades Reservoir, a dammed lake that covers some sixteen thousand acres. It is not only a popular place for outdoor pursuits such as camping, wildlife watching, hunting and boating, but has an excellent reputation for fishing.

The Palisades Reservoir is close to Yellowstone National Park. Its diversity has made it ideal for fishing, providing boat ramps and plenty of trails for accessing more difficult to reach fishing hotspots. In fact, single professional anglers are not alone in their quest for the big fish. Many families make holidays out of fishing in the lake, which is perfect for teaching children to fish.

Fly fishing is also popular in the Palisades Reservoir. Fishermen can enjoy catching fish throughout the year, including brownies, cutthroat, Mackinaw and salmon.
