Jenny Lake, in Grand Teton National Park, is not far from Jackson Hole, Wyoming and easily accessed so you can take in the incredible scenery and plentiful outdoor recreation.

Location

Jenny Lake is inside Grand Teton National Park, off of Highway 26/89, southwest of Jackson Lake.

Seasons

Jenny Lake is accessible only in the spring, summer and fall. The road from Moose to Jenny Lake is closed in the winter.

Fishing

Jenny Lake has captured the imagination and watchful eye of many an eager fisherman.

With a little bit of ingenuity, fishermen can find many hotspots along Jenny Lake's shorelines that offer beaches and rocky outcrops that are perfect for setting up a fishing line and watching the fish bite.

The main fish species found in Jenny Lake are trout. In fact, the lake has produced some of the park’s largest recorded fish.

Boating

A fabulous way to get out on the water at Jenny Lake is to head right for Jenny Lake Boating, a Grand Teton concessionaire. Here you can find boat shuttles that will transport you to the Cascade Canyon Trailhead. From here, hike up to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.

Rent canoes and kayaks from Jenny Lake Boating to paddle around, getting some incredible photo opportunities of the magnificent views.

This boat company runs from 15 May to 30 September each year. Hours vary. Also available are one-hour lake cruises around the lake from mid-June to early September.

Camping

Jenny Lake Campground offers dramatic views of the peaks. If space is not available, Colter Bay Campground or Gros Ventre are the next most likely places to find a campsite.
