Green River Lakes

The Green River Lakes are located in Sublette County in Wyoming, right in the heart of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. They are remains of thousands of years of glacial scouring and now provide great summer recreation, including fishing.

Fishing in Wyoming provides many options. One of these are the naturally cut glacial lakes called the Green River Lakes. They sit inside the Bridger-Teton National Forest and offer great opportunities to fishermen of all skill levels.

The best access to the lakes are at the Green River Lakes Campground, which is situated at the lower Green River Lake, offering full boating and fishing facilities for everyone. In fact, it is quite common to see fishing expeditions out on the lakes from June to September when the lakes are full of whitefish, rainbow trout, Mackinaw, cutthroats and brookies. However, as isolated as the lakes are they are protected and licenses are required for any fishing, obtainable from the Wyoming Game and Fishing Office or through the forest's ranger stations.
