When choosing a river with plenty of fish and more so many varieties, the Wyoming Green River is the best option for local fishing. The river has an array of amenities and hot spots for fishing that can be accessed via country roads and towns. In fact, the Green River is a perfect place for fishing adventures for many people.
The Green River has an abundance of whitefish, cutthroats, rainbow trout, brookies and brown trout. The river can be accessed via Teton and Bridger, twelve miles from Warren Bridge, via the Daniel Hatchery, a dirt road off Highway 351 and from Long Island, La Barge, the Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge and Expedition Island.
Other than the need for a fishing permit from the local forest ranger stations or nearby towns, fishing in the Green River is fairly unrestricted. However, winter weather is pretty harsh and snow covers many of the access roads to the point where getting near the river is only possible with an off-road vehicle.
