Pole, Pedal, Paddle Race
Every April, the POLE, PEDAL, PADDLE is a four-event relay race with contestants competing individually or in teams. The events include an alpine ski leg, a cross-country ski leg, a bicycle leg and a boating leg. The race will be followed by an awards ceremony and springtime party. The POLE, PEDAL, PADDLE is a fund raising event of the Jackson Hole Ski Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing a ski education foundation for Alpine and Nordic Junior racers.
Besides witnessing some of the best, most talented athletes coming from multiple states to compete, the event is also fun for the public to watch. In the recreational divisions, zaniness is part of the attraction. You'll find best friends teaming together, employees from the same company, and volunteers from non-profit groups hamming it up.
Known as an "unofficial rite of spring", the PPP often coincides with the closing weekend of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort' ski season. Overall, the event attracts hundreds of competitors, dozens of sponsors, and sometimes thousands of spectators and support crew members.
