Event Details:
Music Director Donald Runnicles commands a blockbuster season finale with colorful works: Slonimsky’s Earbox, a witty tribute to the great American musical lexicographer, Nicholas Slonimsky. The wild ride—high energy and much mischief—continues with British percussionist Colin Currie commanding the orchestra “kitchen” in the Grammy® Award-winning Percussion Concerto by noted American composer, Jennifer Higdon. In contrast to these musical kinetics, Sir Edward Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro for Strings is topped off by a comic close, Richard Strauss’ Till Eulenspiegel’s Merry Pranks.
